Push those summer clothes to the back of the closet...
and don the latest fall fashions. Here are a few tips to ensure you look great as we transition into autumn.
FOR THE LADIES
Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em, pastels are making a comeback this fall. Runways have been full of baby blues and pale pinks, but, as with all in vogue looks, there’s a right way to wear them and a wrong way. The trick is to pair pastel colors with traditional fall colors.
Oversized coats are also trending. Think menswear-inspired. As for colors, pastels work, as well as more traditional coat hues like gray or olive green.
And last but not least on your shopping list for fall fashions is leather, (we love the Fall All Saints Collection) Over-the-knee boots make a strong statement and look as good worn with pants or with a skirt. And speaking of pants, leather pants are a great option this year. Paired with a cashmere sweater, for example, you can’t go wrong.
FOR THE GUYS
Men, it’s time to re-embrace the classic, clean look of the
camel coat. The lighter color will set you apart from all the navy blues (a big
color for fall/winter of 2012), grays and blacks. Worn with darker colors, a
camel coat really pops.
Cotton is always a good choice for fabrics, but it’s fairly
common place. To stand out, tweed and wool look to be big this year. Jackets,
blazers, coats, suits and sweaters that incorporate tweed, wool or a wool blend
(if you don’t want to spend the day itching) will keep you warm and looking
good.
As for footwear, like the ladies, men should invest in a
good pair of boots. Leather boots in brown or black work well dressed up or
down, and should keep your feet dry and warm, whatever the weather.
And remember, guys and girls, you don’t have to break the
bank to look good. A few quick Google searches will give you an eye for what
fashions to snag when out shopping, and there are bargains to be found. Know
what you’re looking for and hit the stores, geared up to be in style this
autumn!
