Push those summer clothes to the back of the closet...

and don the latest fall fashions. Here are a few tips to ensure you look great as we transition into autumn.

FOR THE LADIES
Whether you love ‘em or hate ‘em, pastels are making a comeback this fall. Runways have been full of baby blues and pale pinks, but, as with all in vogue looks, there’s a right way to wear them and a wrong way. The trick is to pair pastel colors with traditional fall colors.
Oversized coats are also trending. Think menswear-inspired. As for colors, pastels work, as well as more traditional coat hues like gray or olive green.

And last but not least on your shopping list for fall fashions is leather, (we love the Fall All Saints Collection) Over-the-knee boots make a strong statement and look as good worn with pants or with a skirt. And speaking of pants, leather pants are a great option this year. Paired with a cashmere sweater, for example, you can’t go wrong.

FOR THE GUYS
Men, it’s time to re-embrace the classic, clean look of the camel coat. The lighter color will set you apart from all the navy blues (a big color for fall/winter of 2012), grays and blacks. Worn with darker colors, a camel coat really pops.

Cotton is always a good choice for fabrics, but it’s fairly common place. To stand out, tweed and wool look to be big this year. Jackets, blazers, coats, suits and sweaters that incorporate tweed, wool or a wool blend (if you don’t want to spend the day itching) will keep you warm and looking good.

As for footwear, like the ladies, men should invest in a good pair of boots. Leather boots in brown or black work well dressed up or down, and should keep your feet dry and warm, whatever the weather.

And remember, guys and girls, you don’t have to break the bank to look good. A few quick Google searches will give you an eye for what fashions to snag when out shopping, and there are bargains to be found. Know what you’re looking for and hit the stores, geared up to be in style this autumn!

How to Manscape shame free this summer!

Okay, so you’re tired of folks down at the local pool claiming they’ve seen Big Foot any time you decide to take a dip. Very understandable. In recent years, ‘manscaping’, or body hair trimming and removal for men, has become popular. However, it’s a daunting task and you don’t want to go about it the wrong way. Here are a couple of tips to get you looking good all over for summer.

PRIMING
First, before you start shaving any body hair (assuming you’re planning to shave), take the time to do some trimming. A pair of clippers comes in handy here. If you are planning to shave, the closer the trim, the better. Just be careful around any loose skin or sensitive areas, like your nipples. You want to clip the hair, not your skin.

BACK HAIR
Kill it. Kill it all.

You can remove all the hair from your back without a second of hesitation. Our culture is pretty much agreed that backs are better hairless. The problem of back hair is that it can be tough to reach. The most obvious solution is to recruit help—a girlfriend, wife or friend who owes you a great deal of money. If enlisting a shave slave is not an option, there are some clever products out there (like the Razorba) that can help you achieve a hairless back solo.
CHEST & STOMACH HAIR
Some people like a hairy chest and some would rather go hairless all over. This is more a matter of preference than anything else. If you’re not sure how shorn you want to go, start with just trimming your chest/stomach hair and see how it looks, but don’t get too creative. There’s no need for designs or intricate blending. Just pick a length and trim, trim, trim.
If you decide you’d prefer no hair, you can (carefully) trim against the grain with the lowest setting on your clippers, or shave. Shaving against the grain will get you a closer shave, but may also result in some ingrown hairs.
UPKEEP
Whatever degree of manscaping you decide on, try to maintain your groomed look throughout the summer. Yes, it takes a little time, but the more you do it, the easier and faster it will become.
