"NEW BLOOM" Light box : Laura Little
Time to get your summer spruce on!
Most people don’t dream of living in tight, cramped, or confined living spaces. However, if you’re on a tight budget, you live in the city, or you’re a recent grad, chances are you’ll be spending a decent amount of time living in a small. Make the most of your available space by following these easy-to-do design tips:
1). Put a mirror on your living room’s wall. A large mirror will add more light into your room. A mirror also gives the optical illusion of more space. However, multiple mirrors in the same room will work against you.
2). Keep your furniture to scale. Big furniture will fill up your space fast. Buy tall furniture instead of wide furniture.
3). Invest in a good statement piece. One or two statement pieces can transform the entire look and feel of your space. A statue, a unique figurine, or pieces of artwork are a few examples of statement pieces. Pick something that has a “wow” factor. Your piece should make you feel good. After all, you’ll have to look at it every day.
4). Choose a color scheme. Try to keep all your furniture and décor in the same color family. A large pattern on a piece of furniture can really overwhelm your small space. A monochromatic look is great for the person who wants their place to look bigger than it really is.
5). Invest in a large book case. A book case is an interesting way to display any miscellaneous items that would cause clutter otherwise. A book case frees up space, it’s pretty to look at, and it’ll give your apartment more edge.
