SNAP HAPPY TIGER!
Who doesn't like getting their picture taken??!
Whether you’re getting glammed up for an at-home boudoir shoot or
putting your best face forward for a professional head shot, photo
shoots are fun. However, if you don’t follow some basic photo shoot
rules, you could end up looking ten years older, puffier, hairier, and
oilier than your normal self. Camera's pick up things that the normal
eye won’t notice.
In certain lighting, the blonde peach fuzz across your jaw line could
rival that of your local circus’s bearded lady. Here are Lola’s from
28on27’s top 5 ways to look your best at your photo shoot:
1). Avoid certain foods and drinks 72 hours before your shoot: Red
meat, alcohol, spicy foods, caffeine, will cause oily or flaky skin
and/or swelling. That means no late night partying and eating curry
before your shoot.
2). NO Facials: DO NOT get a facial the day before…do this at least 7 days before so your skin has time to calm down.
3). Don’t over condition your hair: Dry hair is easier
to work with than oily hair. You can always tame hair with products—but
it’s hard to work backwards from oily hair without re-showering or
re-washing your hair. When in doubt, don’t use conditioner at all.
4). Get rid of unwanted hair: All visible
hair will show on camera. Waxing is best, but rule of thumb, at least 2 days
before.
5). Use Vaseline: You can avoid dry lips by using Vaseline. Put it on before bed the night
before your shoot and the morning of your shoot.
It’s also important to be
well-rested (at least 8 hours of sleep the night before), unstressed, and in a
good mood. For an in-house sexy shoot, it’s all about location location
location! Make the most of your bedroom, and other sexy elements (hello
kitchen?!) If you aren’t ready to
tackle a photo shoot all by yourself, let 28on27 do the work for you! Visit www.28on27shop.com for ideas!
