28on27 Recaps the Oscars!
Last Sunday’s Academy Awards ceremony scored the largest TV audience in
three years—approximately 40.3 million Americans tuned in to watch
their favorite actors, directors, and performers strut the red carpet,
talk about their designer looks, and ultimately, collect the coveted
gold statuettes.
Here are some of 28on27’s favorite moments,
1). Method-serious actor Daniel Day-Lewis’s light, humorous, and well-articulated speech. He couldn’t have done it any better.
2). Jennifer Lawrence. Everything about her—we loved her fall on the
stage, her charming speech that addressed the fall: “you guys are just
standing up because you felt bad that I fell,” her quirky sense of
humor, her dress. Everything. She’s impossible to hate.
3). The first lady’s live presentation of the award for “Best Picture” from the White House. Aaahmazing.
And here are some moments we’d rather forget….
1). Brave
co-director Mark Andres showed up in a peculiar choice of outfit—a kilt. “I
just happened to be wearing the kilt,” he said. “I didn’t plan any of this.”
Riiiiiight.
2). Seth MacFarlane. At least for us—why couldn’t Tina do
it? We saw your boobs? Really?
3). Meryl Steep appeared to be picking a wedgie during one
of her acceptance speeches.
4). Paul Rudd and Melissa McCarthy shared an unfunny,
awkward skit about voicing animated characters. For two funny actors, they
weren’t very funny.
Well..here’s to next year!
